The below list shows the countries whose natives are eligible for DV-2020, grouped by geographic region. Dependent areas overseas are included within the part of the ruling country. This list does not include those in the categories such as asylum seekers, refugees, NACARA beneficiaries or earlier diversity immigrants. Hence, even though nations like Cuba, Russia, Iran, Ethiopia, Ukraine, Nigeria, and Bangladesh, have in the past years sent more than 50,000 immigrants, they are still eligible.

Those who were born in the areas administered before June 1967 by Israel, Jordan, Syria, and Egypt are chargeable, sequentially, to Israel, Jordan, Syria, and Egypt. Persons born in the Gaza Strip are liable to Egypt; persons born in the West Bank are chargeable to Jordan, And also those born in the Golan Heights remain chargeable to Syria.
Note: For the aim of the diversity program only, Northern Ireland is handled distinctly. Northern Ireland does qualify and is placed among the qualifying regions.
Citizens of the following European countries are not eligible for the year’s DV program: Great Britain (United Kingdom). Great Britain (United Kingdom) comprises of the following dependent areas: Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, British Indian Ocean Territory, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, Pitcairn, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, St. Helena, and Turks and Caicos Islands.
SOUTH AMERICA, CENTRAL AMERICA, AND THE CARIBBEAN
Antigua, and Barbuda, Argentina, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Ecuador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, onduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Saint Kitts, and Nevis Saint, Lucia Saint, Vincent, and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, Venezuela.
Countries in this area whose natives are not eligible for this year’s DV program are the among the following: Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, and Peru.
For DV-2020, citizens of the following countries are not eligible to apply, because more than 50,000 people (natives of these countries) immigrated to the United States in the past five years:
Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (mainland born), Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland) and its subordinate territories, and Vietnam.
Those born in Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Taiwan are eligible.
Changes in eligibility this year: Ecuador is eligible for DV-2020.
The Bahamas in North America, natives of Canada and Mexico, are not eligible for this year’s DV program.

Natives of the following Asia Region countries are not eligible for this year’s Diversity Visa program: Bangladesh, China (mainland-born), India, Pakistan, South Korea, Philippines, and Vietnam.
